This countdown book, by Janet Schulman, begins with a cheery band of 10 masked and costumed children leaving an apartment building to begin their night of fun. As they board a bus to go to a party and trick-or-treat from house to house, their number slowly diminishes as each successive child is frightened off by costumed creatures. A not-too-scary treat for the youngest Halloween fans.

Little monsters and goofy goblins take center stage in this silly, spooky spin on Clement C. Moore's beloved poem. But what will happen on Halloween when the monsters come face to face with human trick-or-treaters in this fun-filled book by Natasha Wing

Use the last two days of the month to celebrate:
National Candy Corn Day, October 30- This treat was invented in the 1880's by George Renninger, and first manufactured by the Wunderle Candy Company. The Goelitz Candy company was the first to manufacture mass quantities around the turn of the century.
Carve a Pumpkin Day, October 31- The day to do just that. Although, you may want to do this a few days to a week before Halloween.
Halloween, October 31- Dress-up,  go door-to-door, telling your best jokes, for a treat.
