Books Take You Places!

Below you will find a list of some of the multicultural books that are available at our libraries. Take your child places by exploring books and the cultures they contain, choose a book and then get other titles to build on the theme or country. Start by reading the story and then showing your child where they live on the map, then  show them the story's location on the map. Talk about how you could travel there..Would you take a boat, a plane, or a car? What would they like to do or see in that particular place?

Next, start to look at the other you books checked that are culturally relative to the first title. After all the reading is completed find a craft and recipe that corresponds with the culture or country and get to work.
