Raindrops drop. They plop. They patter. They spatter. And in the process, they make the whole world feel fresh and new and clean.
In this gorgeously photo-illustrated nonfiction picture book, celebrated author April Pulley Sayre sheds new light on the wonders of rain, from the beauty of a raindrop balanced on a leaf to the amazing, never-ending water cycle that keeps our planet in perfect ecological balance.

But is it a...
...noodle with freckles?
A pickle with feet?
A nickel with speckles?
A bicycle seat?
A porcupine dancing on the head of a pig?
A whatchamacallit or a thingamajig?
You decide in this wondrous adventure through the world of clouds!
Literacy Extenders:
- Go outside and look at the clouds...Play I spy and see what you can see. Encourage your child's imagination by pointing out different shapes and comparing them to animals or vehicles.
- Make a cloud picture with cotton balls, glue and pictures. Take small pieces of paper and write the names of simple things on them...like dog, cat, and car. Flip over the pieces so the blank side is showing, then you and your child can take turns picking them and making the item out of cotton....and then the other person can try and guess at what you have created.
