Activity Extra: I SPY

I SPY FUN

Most kids love Walter Wick's I Spy series, so why not encourage them to make their own! The activity below can be broken into two parts...First have your child color items on the page (not all of them, because they may be discouraged with the amount.)
Next go ahead and play I spy together.

Looking for some Mommy or Daddy time? Make this an independent venture by creating a legend for your child...make a icon list of the things that your child needs to find. Give them a page post it tabs so they can put one on each item as they find it  on the page.

So What happens after they have mastered this page.....

  • Let them cut up magazines to add images, or just let them make their own page entirely.... You give them a theme so they would have to look for and identify items in the magazine, by doing this you are teaching them about grouping and categorizing a series of items.
  • After you and your child have created a series of I Spy pages add them to a binder in a transparent sleeve, and now you have travel game or rainy day activity....
