Luckily, Mama and Papa Duck are very, very patient, and soon, Duckling will join his siblings in the pond. Here is a charming story, illustrated with exquisite, up-close photos, that will help young readers learn to swim—or try anything new.
Lively animal characters are a delight in this version of the well-loved children's song, with new lyrics and sheet music included.

Literacy Extenders:
- As you read through the first book, ask your child how they think the duck is feeling? Ask why they think that, what indicators are the story and pictures giving?
- After reading both titles ask your child how the illustrations are different, see if they can make the connection that in one of the books the illustrations are actual photos and in the other they are drawings that have been painted.
- Talk about the duck in the first book ans ask your child if their was a time when they were afraid of something or afraid to try something.....remind them that by trying new things they will see how capable they are.
- Also as you read the second book by as a new animal is introduced on each page have your child make the noise that that animal makes!
- Checkout a children's CD that contains the song Row Row Row your boat and get up and sing and dance with your child.
