Have you ever been tickled pink? Green with envy? Or just plain blue? Well, it?s good to know that we all have a rainbow of feelings inside.
Beloved music legend Dolly Parton provides children with a fun way to talk about their feelings in this colorful, upbeat picture book. And by understanding their own feelings, they can learn to respect the feelings of others.
I Am a Rainbow will encourage children of all ages to acknowledge their feelings and take control.

Dr. Seuss's youngest concept book is now available in a sturdy board book for his youngest fans! All of the stunning illustrations and imaginative type designs of Steve Johnson and Lou Fancher are here, as are the intriguing die-cut squares in the cover. A brighter, more playful cover design makes this board book edition all the more appropriate as a color concept book to use with babies or a feelings and moods book to discuss with toddlers.

Literacy Extenders:
  • As you read both of the above titles and identify each color ask your child what other things they can name that are also the same color.
  • As the colors in the first book are correlated with different feeling and emotions ask your child if they have ever felt that way and what was the situation that made them feel like that. EXAMPLE:
  • What was something that made you mad?
  • What are some things that make you sad?
  • What are the things that make you happiest?
  • As you read the second title and new animal is shown on each page, ask your child to make the noise that animal would make.
